Fatal haemoptysis caused by a ruptured Rasmussen's aneurysm.
A 47-year-old woman with a past history of pulmonary tuberculosis presented to our institution with out-of-hospital cardiac arrest because of massive haemoptysis after severe coughing. On arrival, immediate cardiopulmonary resuscitation with chest compression, endotracheal intubation and intravenous epinephrine 1 mg with an interval of 3 min for asystole was performed. Twelve minutes later she ...
متن کاملMassive hemoptysis caused by a ruptured subclavian artery aneurysm.
We report a case of left subclavian artery aneurysm, which ruptured and penetrated through the left upper lung parenchyma causing massive hemoptysis and a left hemothorax. Through sternothoracotomy, tangential aneurysmorrhaphy under proximal control and left upper pulmonary lobectomy were performed. The patient is doing well after nearly three years of follow-up.

Aberrant right subclavian artery is the most common congenital malformation of the aortic arch (0.4%-2.0%). Aneurysms of aberrant subclavian arteries are extremely rare. This results in little experience with their treatment. We describe a case of a patient who presented to the emergency department with a dissection of an aberrant right subclavian artery that later progressed to rupture. Beside...
متن کاملSuccessful Treatment of a Ruptured Subclavian Artery Aneurysm Presenting as Hemoptysis with a Covered Stent
An aneurysm of the subclavian artery is rare. Recently, we experienced a case of a ruptured subclavian artery aneurysm presenting as hemoptysis. The patient had experienced atypical chest discomfort, and computed tomography (CT) revealed a small aneurysm of the left subclavian artery (SCA). Hemoptysis occurred 2 weeks later. Follow-up CT showed a ruptured aneurysm at the proximal left SCA. Endo...
متن کاملA Case Report of Ruptured Superficial Femoral Artery Aneurysm
Single superficial femoral artery (SFA) aneurysm is rare and occurs in approximately 5 per 100,000 patients. Rupture is a rare complication in this aneurysm. In this case report, we present the diagnostic and therapeutic work up of a ruptured SFA aneurysm of the right lower limb in a 75-year-old diabetic man with ischemic heart disease. Pre-surgical diagnosis was through physical examination fi...
